As 10th Anniversary of Minghui Website Draws Near, Editors Answer Readers' Questions

(Clearwisdom.net) On June 18, 1999, the Chinese-language Falun Dafa website "Minghui Net" was established. It has been maintained by Falun Dafa practitioners in North America on a voluntary basis. The website officially opened up a week later on June 25. The full name of the Minghui website, when it was launched in June 1999, was "Falun Dafa in North America, Minghui Net," and the name was changed to "Falun Dafa Minghui Net" at the end of 2000.
I. Visitor Traffic on Minghui Net
1. Traffic from outside of China
In 2004, 5.8 million; 8.2 million in 2005; 11.8 million in 2006; 16.7 million in 2007; 12.2 million in 2008.
The above figures show that visitors from 12.2 million unique IP addresses outside of China went to the Minghui website in 2008.
2. Traffic from Falun Gong practitioners in mainland China visiting the website via software that circumvents the CCP's Internet blockade
Falun Gong practitioners in mainland China visit the Minghui website via software that circumvents the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) Internet blockade. For security reasons, we cannot publish the number of unique IP's from mainland China at the moment.
As of April 2009, we show that there are about 200,000 stable truth clarification materials production sites operated by Falun Gong practitioners in mainland China.
In the persecution environment of mainland China, the materials production sites are kept secret. Their daily work is to download Falun Dafa articles and truth-clarification materials from Minghui, after which they are printed and distributed. This is provided to a small number of Falun Gong practitioners in surrounding areas. Then these practitioners disseminate the materials to more practitioners and non-practitioners for distribution.
As of April 2009, each site can provide up to 1,000 practitioners with Dafa books, new Dafa lectures and articles, "Minghui Weekly", the Minghui Weekly newspaper (for Mainland China) and other types of truth-clarification materials.
There have been at least 40 million practitioners in mainland China who have exchanged information on Minghui through the above mentioned 200,000 materials production sites.

II. Statistics on Papers Received for Internet Experience Sharing Conferences for Practitioners in China Organized by Minghui
From the first Fa conference in 2004 to the fourth Fa conference in 2007, papers received ranged between 2,200 to 2,600 per year. For the fifth Fa conference held in 2008, about 11,000 papers were received.
III. Number of Published Persecution Cases
From July 20, 1999 until today, over 254,000 persecution cases have been received, confirmed and published on the Minghui website. Cases received but not published are not included in that number.
IV. Number of Published Cultivation Sharing Articles
In the past ten years, nearly 40,000 cultivation experience sharing articles have been published on the Minghui website.
V. Number of Published "Solemn Statements"
1. As of today, 406,000 practitioners have published their solemn statements on Minghui. In these statements, the author declares that the Chinese Communist Party's brainwashing is null and void. Any guarantee statements they had written under the CCP's pressure, which declare that they no longer practice Falun Gong, are made null and void. The practitioner states his or her commitment to re-join Falun Dafa cultivation practice.
2. As of today, 97,000 non-practitioners have asked to publish their statements on Minghui, saying that they have learned the facts about Dafa and the persecution, and now support Falun Dafa.
