New York City: Falun Gong Participates in Chinese New Year Parade in Flushing (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On February 20, the annual Chinese New Year Parade was held in Flushing, New York, attracting numerous Chinese immigrants and their children. Falun Gong practitioners once again participated in this event and received high remarks.

The practitioners' Divine Land Marching Band attracted the attention of many spectators. The band was enthusiastically cheered and applauded.
Following the band were "celestial maidens" in Tang Dynasty attire, followed by lion and dragon dancers. Practitioners also displayed giant lanterns which had the following Chinese characters: "Falun Dafa" and "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forb earance."
The last component of the practitioners' procession was the waist drum troupe, which performed to the music of "Falun Dafa is good."
Many spectators told the reporters that the Falun Gong procession was excellent.
A Chinese immigrant said that he was glad to see such a spectacular procession of Falun Gong practitioners. He added that there is yet no freedom in China and he wished that people in China could one day enjoy the same freedom as people in the U.S.
Another Chinese person was very excited to find that the Falun Gong procession has practitioners of different races. He said that the Falun Gong procession was always the best in this annual parade and it is great to see that there are practitioners of all ethnicities.
A Chinese couple said, "We come to see the parade every year and our purpose is just to see the Falun Gong procession which is grandiose."
